PTK CEO Shyqyri Haxha and Faik Fazliu, the Head of the Office for Veterans’ Issues, within the Prime Minister’s Office, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on re-integrating/employing 16 KLA war disabled persons.

The Memorandum is in line with the policies of the Veterans’ Office and the PTK’s policies on institutional cooperation and support to war veterans. As a result of the agreement, 16 war disabled persons start work with the PTK as of January 1st, 2010.

During the signing ceremony, CEO Shyqyri Haxha stated, “These disabled persons have greatly contributed for Kosovo and today, it is a great honor for the PTK to have them among us, as of tomorrow, because these are the people who deserve the greatest respect and maximal economic and social welfare.”

Haxha added that the veterans will officially start tomorrow and that their new job has been adapted to their physical abilities. He also emphasized that the Post and Telecommunications of Kosovo, under his management, has contributed more than any other institution in employment, training, solidarity and the integration of these social categories, also engaging in extending support for their dignity, rights and welfare.

For his part, the Head of the Veterans’ Office thanked the PTK CEO for this opportunity for the war disabled persons, for their integration in accordance with their abilities and their special needs.

Fazliu stated, “We are grateful to Dr. Haxha for the employment opportunity for these 16 war disabled persons and, considering the very difficult social and physical circumstances for these people, this is an extraordinary thanks to the PTK.”

The PTK, during the press conference, stated that it will continue to offer employment and other assistance whenever and wherever it has the financial capacity to do so.
