Regular meeting of the Government Commission for the recognition and verification of the status of veterans, invalids, members and internees of the KLA was held

Government Commission for recognition and verification of the status of veterans, invalids, members and internees of the KLA held a regular meeting.

After the meeting, at the press conference, Chairperson of the Commission, Agim Çeku, informed that about 95 percent of the applications or in figures, 65 thousand and 9 applications have been reviewed.

"We have evaluated the overall performance of the process so far, and found out that the Commission is in the final stage of verification of applications for the status of veterans, invalids, members and internees of the KLA. 23 thousand and 684 war veterans, 4 thousand and 339 invalids, 2 thousand and 142 martyrs, 8 thousand and 139 members of the KLA, 13 thousand and 136 participants of the war have been verified, while 2 thousand and 852 applications are under the review process, 4 thousand and 486 applications have been rejected so far, "said the Chairperson of the Commission Agim Çeku.

Chairperson of the Commission said that by latest February 20th, lists of all zones and the General Staff will be published.

"On Wednesday, will be published the first list of Operational Zone of Llap and Karadak, after we will continue with publication of each area until February 20th.
It is true that this process took more time than we have planed it, but I assure all those who applied, that it is not the Commission’s fault or due to lack of will for this postpone, but due to voluminous work, "said Çeku.

The published lists are the initial lists, and according to Law, everyone has the right to appeal 30 days after the date of publication. After reviewing the complaint, the Commission shall publish the final list, and there shall be no deadline of complaint, but anyone who thinks that their status was not recognized, should file a complaint to the Court, "said Agim Çeku.

"Following the publication of lists each veteran will personally apply for pension benefits and one thing is sure that in the budget of 2015 are allocated 24 million euros for pensions of war veterans. We are also confident that this allocated budget will completely be used for war veterans' pensions ", stressed Faik Fazliu, Head of the KLA Veterans.
